We offer individualized Computer-Based Therapy in our office. You or your child will receive speech, language, and/or educational instruction utilizing state-of-the-art technology by our highly trained staff. Each program is uniquely structured in order to provide successful learning experiences. Each session runs for 1/2 hour, 45 minute, or one hour.

Pathways to Independent Living™ is our newest program. This service emphasizes lifeskills that are so important for establishing a greater level of self-reliance. The following are examples of the areas that are included in this program:

1. Interactive play with peers
2. Showing interest in others
3. Verbal conversation with peers and others
4. Expressive Communication using Augmentative Communication for those who are non-verbal or minimally verbal
5. Social skills in a variety of arenas

Pragmatic/Social Therapy is implemented in 3 settings:

1. Individually with an instructor
2. Pragmatic Partner-in order to practice interactions with one other individual some students are paired with another student who has similar language abilities during his/her speech therapy session
3. Pragmatic Group-Students are grouped with 2-3 other peers of similar ability for one-hour sessions. In a fun, but structured environment, the students are exposed to a variety of activities designed to increase interaction skills

The goals are based on the level of the group. Students who enter the process at the lower levels will focus on developing play skills and developing interest in others. As they progress, conversational interactions (both verbal and augmentative) are addressed. Students at the upper levels primarily work on improving social skills with peers.
