What happens if I buy software
that does not seem to work well for my child? |

If you purchase a program that
your child does not initially respond to, please feel free
to call and speak with our staff. We will be happy to make
recommendations that may help to improve your child’s
performance. If after you have implemented our ideas, you
still feel that you have not purchased the appropriate program,
let us know. Many of the software programs come with a 30-day,
no questions asked guarantee. If you have purchased software
that includes this service, we will be happy to exchange it
for something more suitable or give you a full refund less
the postage and handling charges. |

How long will my child need speech therapy? |
| |
Every child’s needs are
different and each individual progresses at their own rate.
Therefore, we are unable to predict exactly how long the course
of therapy will run. However, during the course of the consultation
and evaluation, we will be able to estimate whether the recommended
treatment will be short-term (as in a matter of months) or
long-term (a year or longer). |

How can I optimize the progress that my
child makes in speech therapy? |

In order for your child to make the greatest
amount of progress in his/her therapy program, we recommend
that you make a commitment to the schedule that has been designed
by you and your child’s therapist. The consistency of
attendance is very important. We also promote the implementation
of a home therapy program. We often send worksheets home after
the lesson. By reviewing this information with your child
during the time in between classes, you will reinforce the
concepts from the lesson. In addition, we offer computer software
programs and speech and language kits that can be purchased
and used during the home program. |
